Ali Zafar enjoys reinventing his style quotient whenever he can, and his red carpet appearances prove that. Over the years, the confidence with which he has pulled off a moustached look, a French beard, and a variety of different hairstyles proves that he is indeed the Most Stylish Import the country has seen."

It seems like every second Pakistani actor is heading to Bollywood these days.
Silver screen darlings Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan are already well on their way to Bollywood domination — with Fawad Khan set to star in Karan Johar's next venture and Mahira Khan featuring in Raees opposite Shahrukh Khan.
The latest actress to set foot across the border seems to be Mawra Hocane. The actress posted pictures from her trip to Mumbai on social media, showing her jetting off to India and then out and about in an outfit from Maria B. Mawra is the face of Maria B. lawn this season, along with sister Urwa.
The actress titled one of her photographs 'Bombay Bound!'
Mawra appeared in popular serials like Main Bushra, where she starred opposite Faisal Qureshi, and Yahan Pyar Nahi Hai, Ek Tamanna Lahasil Si andKitni Girhain Baqi Hain.
She's reportedly in Mumbai to read scripts.

Ho Mann Jahaan — the next big thing in Pak cinema is coming soon

Tired of na maloom afrad and saucy jalaibees? Next on the agenda for Pakistani cinema is the 'feel good' film Ho Mann Jahaan, a coming-of-age drama about three university friends directed by Asim Raza.
The film stars Mahira Khan, Adeel Hussain and Shehryar Munawar in lead roles and includes notable names like Arshad Mehmood, Bushra Ansari, Nimra Bucha, Sonya Jehan, Jamal Shah and Munawar Siddiqui.

The film is 95% completed and it is hoped that it would see a release on Eidul Azha.
At a pre-release event hosted by Khalid Malik at Karachi's Frere Hall, the cast and crew came together to offer up a sneak peek of what's in store. Watch the trailer below.
Why should we watch Ho Mann Jahaan?
  • A fab cast: Mahira Khan, Adeel Hussain and Shehryar Munawar
  • A soundtrack featuring the likes of Atif Aslam, Tina Sani, Zeb and Haniya and Jimmy Khan
  • Outfits designed by Feeha Jamshed and Ismail Farid and Umar Sayeed
  • A relatable, no-frills story about a group of friends trying to follow their dreams
Sporting a mustache Shehryar Munawar, who is also co-producing the film, could be seen milling around before the event began, visibly nervous. A casually dressed, Arshad Mehmood, who plays the father of one of the three lead characters, had also arrived earlier than the rest of the lot.
Cameras began to flash soon as the ever gorgeous Mahira Khan made her way to the red carpet, wearing a red skirt by Elan paired with a black T-shirt that read: ‘Forget the dress code’.
The stars look incredibly dapper on the red carpet.

Accompanying her as she walked in were none other than the leading actors of HMJ— suited to the nines — the dashing Adeel Hussain and the charming Shehryar Munawar, who looked much more controlled now.
The film follows the story of three friends who are passionate about music and who discover themselves in their journey together. While Manizeh (Mahira) plays the vocalist, Nadir (Adeel Hussain) plays the drummer and Arhaan (Shehryar Munawar) plays the guitarist.
The cast talks character:
Although the cast wasn’t willing to give away too much, Mahira described her character Manizeh as ‘today's girl’ who is confident and has been brought up in a liberal atmosphere by a single mother. When pressed to speak about her big Bollywood venture alongside Shahrukh Khan in Raees the actor said that it was a great industry and she believed she had to be part of her own as well. She added that even if the role wasn’t a leading one, she couldn’t have said no to the director, Asim, for his first feature film.

“I had earlier thought the role would be easy because I could easily relate to Manizeh but it was later I realised that it wasn’t so. I had been doing certain kinds of roles so I had to break away from them.”
Shehryar Munawar who plays Arhaan said, “Arhaan is a bit of a rebel hailing from the lower-middle class, and his parents’ hopes are pinned on him. He is a carefree guy jisko sab kuch chahye bohat thoray se time me — like many other young people out there. Before HMJ, I wasn’t entirely gone from the scene but have been acting as assistant director to Asim.”

The ever composed Adeel Hussain, who has made a name for himself after appearing in dramas like DaamMata-e-Jaan and recently, Jackson Heightsplays an only child from the upper-middle class.
“It’s a heartfelt tale and our experience was absolutely wonderful, we were in very good hands. Plus after working in dramas, I got that experience which finally came to play on the set. I have done my best and I would like people to know that once they see the film,” he said.
Adeel also added that the film began shooting as soon as he finished Jackson Heights and that although it wasn’t for him to leap from one character to the other, the immense support made it all possible.
Nimra Bucha, who plays Manizeh's mother, said the film dealt with society's extremes:
“I am an artist, a single mother who has parted ways with her husband because of these reasons. She is open-minded and strikes a balance as it is her house, the friends jam. HMJ explores the conventional mindset of our society as well as ways to change that.”

Being a film about the contemporary urban lifestyle, fashion plays an integral role in the film. Feeha Jamshed, Ismail Farid and Umar Sayeed designed the film's costumes.
With the public always drawing parallels with Bollywood, Asim Raza was straightforward when he said that the film will make a place of its own.
The film will also not have any ‘item-number’ because it wasn’t needed by the film but it’d have a ‘shaadi-number’.
Talking about the story and title, Asim Raza said there were two meanings ofHo Mann Jahaan: ‘where my heart lies’ and ‘may my heart be my universe.’
A sound for sore ears:
There hasn’t been a film in the longest time which could boast a spectacular soundtrack. HMJ should change this.

.The film will feature have nine tracks which are a collaboration of none other than the best musicians of the country with likes of: Atif Aslam, Tina Sani, Zeb and Haniya, Faakhir Mehmood, Abu Muhammad and Fareed Ayaz, Jimmy Khan, Asrar and Mai Dhai band.
The chemistry between the three stars was apparent as they high-fived and winked at each other during the press conference. Judging by their enthusiasm for the project, this is one to watch out for.

To our heroes — of past and future

Where saying goodbye to these two is nothing less than an ordeal, there is also a ray of hope for the future. —AFP
There was gloom, there was glee – a strange ambivalence accompanying my emotions during the nonpareil contest we call the World Cup. As enticed as I was by the 45-day cricketing battle, the fervour wasn’t enough to outweigh the blues of bidding farewell to two of the game’s dearest soldiers.
I do not write this as the traditional ‘legend-farewell essay’ – we don’t need more of those.
Nor will I quote overworked statistics to further extol their numerical milestones. This is an account of the average Pakistani’s contradictory emotions; an adieu of a pair juxtaposed with the ascent of another.
Our former ODI skipper has come a long way from that irreversible reverse-sweep in 2007 – the instance that marked the beginning of my love-hate relationship with Misbah.
As a batsman, his efforts have almost always been eclipsed by our team’s incompetency as a batting unit. He never complained.
There has been unrequited meddling in matters that solely should be left upon a captain. He never complained.
He led Pakistan through the English whitewash in 2012 and went on to become the 2nd Pakistani captain to lift the Asia Cup, yet his leadership has often been despised as ‘laid-back’. He never complained.
It took me a while, but not too long, to realise what an unworthy cricketing body Pakistan is shaping into, and how little Misbah-ul-Haq is credited. Those trite batting collapses Misbah had to crawl us out of will be remembered as moments through our history where the ‘don’t worry, Afridi is yet to come in’ was befittingly replaced by ‘don’t worry, Misbah is yet to come in.’
Dear Misbah, we thank you for your inimitable services to this nation’s cricket, and we can only hope this fledgling lot of batters can continue what you started.
If Misbah is one end of a rope that stretches across a sea of playing attributes, Shahid Afridi is the other. His sporadic shifts in playing roles from bowler to batsman to all-rounder and back to bowler have left us fans baffled – even him to an extent.
Shut your eyes on it all you want, but this very particle of uncertainty is what kept our eyes peeled for him for nearly two decades.
True, there have been days when his spells have met with disasters on the field.
There have been days when his cursory swings of the bat have cost us matches.
There have been days when he has fallen short of justifying his place as a batsman, leave alone as an all-rounder.
Be that as it may, his contributions to Pakistan cricket can never be overstated, for when it was his day, he made us and everyone watching embrace the reality that there was and will never be another like him.
By the end of the game against Australia, the unfulfilled yearning for Misbah-ul-Haq’s ODI ton began to sink in. With the animation that the tournament kicked off with, I was somewhat certain this time there will be no dismissals in the 90s.
Luck had other plans.
Accompanying him on the boat of un-ticked milestones is Shahid Afridi, who finished only 5 short of his 400 one-day wickets. Despite that, he is the only player in one-day cricket history to have scored 8000 runs and clinched over 350 wickets.
It sure would have been majestic to send them off with their respective landmarks reached, even though it would have made a minute difference to their otherwise far-stretched list of achievements.
Pakistan’s World Cup journey ended sooner than we wished it would, though looking back at it through a broader lens, it wasn’t all lousy.
Sarfraz Ahmed and Wahab Riaz ended up being the only positive outcomes of this tour, to our relief. The former’s stunning mental presence both ahead of and behind the bails catalysed Pakistan’s qualification to the quarter-finals without further embarrassment.
This is where Wahab Riaz’s uncanny spell came to life – a sight for sore eyes. I will be honest, I didn’t quite see any good he had done to cricket before, after and besides that Mohali spell in 2011.
Pace isn’t the only factor that makes a fast bowler virulent; any erudite cricket observer knows that. After months and months of perseverance and practice – much like in 2011 – the World Cup became his stage. The world watched in reverence as his vigour aided his pace, a blend so lethal it made Shane Watson question his life decisions.
Where saying goodbye to two masters of ODI cricket appears much like an uphill battle, a part of me finds solace in the idea of watching the likes of Sarfraz and Wahab evolve through the years to become the stars they are so adequate of becoming.
This moment, in the history of Pakistan cricket, might as well be remembered as one where two cricketing legacies were discontinued and two were unearthed.
May that be true.

Mizmaar‬ – Jee Loonga (Official Music Video)

mizmaar-jee-loonga-2
7 years later, ‪‎Mizmaar‬ marks the dawn of a new era in their lives. A fresh start, with the fresh voice of Mashhad Sharyar, on the wings of the much anticipated, comeback single, Jee Loonga!
Band: Mizmaar‬
Song: Jee Loonga
Director: Kashan Admani, Alfred D’Mello
Asst.Director: Shaikh Mudassir
DOP: Farhan Golden
Production: Soft Box
Post and Edit: Shaikh Mudassir
Dream Station Productions
South Asian fusion band Mizmaar created quite a stir when they recently announced their official comeback following a hiatus of 7 years. Music lovers were ecstatic on receiving the good news as the band produced some memorable numbers back in the day – songs which are still fresh in listeners’ minds. The band announced that this time around they will be introducing a new vocalist, who is also the reason why guitarist Kashan Admani and drummer Alfred D’mello decided to make a comeback. Today, Mizmaar officially announces their return with their new single Jee Loonga and the addition of talented young vocalist, Mashhad Sharyar, to their lineup.
Mashhad is a young student from Karachi, who has been passionate about music since childhood. After receiving vocal training from his father, Mashhad decided to pursue music actively last year. He was discovered by Kashan Admani and Alfred D’mello when he came to record in their studios, and they were so impressed by his vocals that they decided to reform Mizmaar with his inclusion.
Speaking about the song and Mizmaar’s comeback, band member Alfred D’mello says, “The song was collaboratively written by Kashan, Mashhad and I. We had a hybrid sound in mind for the song since the very beginning when Kashan first came up with the intro riff. Jee Loonga is a song about hope, the chances and risks that we take in life and the effort that we make despite multiple failures, and believing in yourself no matter what people say. With the launch of this first song after 7 years we are really excited to introduce the very talentedversatile, fresh and new voice of the band, Mashhad Sharyar, who just fits in perfectly with the new sound of Mizmaar”.
The Jee Loonga video is an imaginative depiction of the walls we create around ourselves that restrict our happiness. The lyrics are about living one’s life on one’s own terms fearlessly, and that has been portrayed in the video through the female character who is shown bound inside a room, but towards the end finally decides to break the walls surrounding her. The music video for Jee Loonga has been directed by frontman Kashan Admani himself, and will be available on all major platforms for streaming, starting today.

About Mizmaar
Formed by guitarist Kashan Admani, fusion pop-rock band Mizmaar rose to fame in their native Pakistan with their debut album Kash, the release producing two hit singles for the songs ‘Kash’ and ‘Laut Ke Aa’ in 2003. Their second album, Sitara, was released worldwide on Universal Music in 2007, and spawned the hits ‘Hai Pyar Kya’ and ‘Sitara,’ the latter landing on a soundtrack to the Hollywood film ‘Dragon War.’
Despite their early success, the band was plagued by several personnel changes, prompting Kashan to focus more on his recording studio and commercial music production company, collaborating with longtime friend, band mate and drummer Alfred D’Mello. For several years to follow, the band was silent until Kashan and Alfred happened upon a young vocalist [name to be revealed soon!]: this phenomenally talented singer immediately had the two thinking seriously about reforming Mizmaar with a new front man and revitalizing their sound. The new vocalist brings a new strength to the band, combining classic eastern influences with a western pop attitude. There is currently a new album in the works. This widely anticipated comeback is due to be released soon, along with a video directed by Kashan featuring the newly recharged lineup.
